Bring me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, the wretched refuse of your teeming shore.

~ Emma Lazarus, an excerpt from Statue of Liberty Poem (from New Colossus)

We are making a video!

Our first effort is a media video project titled "In My America" to launch our campaign, Self-care for America. This uplifting video will feature Americans from all over sharing a piece of their ideal vision for America.

It's about Americans caring for Americans; coming together in celebration of what we share in common.

We all have voices; we all have power.

When we get beaten up, burnt out, battered down and overwhelmed, we retreat and find rest and rejuvenation. Americans, millions of Americans, are feeling overwhelm and helplessness. And that the opportunity for the brilliance of our nation may be slipping through our fingers. And so, we feel like we don't have a voice; and I had been feeling that way. But we do. We all have voices. And we all have power.

Count me in to uplift America!

What is this Self-Care Campaign for America?

We're creating an inspirational video featuring Americans from all 50 states and U.S. territories to bring healing and upliftment to our nation.

This is for the millions of us who are exhausted.

You know, us in the middle, the ones who are in pain over families and friendships splitting apart. We're tired of the political arguments, the shouting, the name-calling. We are tired of feeling helpless and overwhelmed. We're scared that our nation is falling apart at the seams. And we feel so unheard.

It's not just us that's exhausted.

America, the nation herself, is exhausted and needs TLC from her people. Our nation is bruised, battered, and burnt out.

So, what if .....

What if we could have our voices heard ~and~ see each other beyond the divisive labels ~and~ bring much-needed healing to our nation and each other?

Is it possible?

We know it is.

And, it is so simple. But it requires YOU. The video project, "In My America" is born from the asking within each of our hearts and souls to be heard, to heal, and be healed.

"In My America" is a healing balm.

It is a virtual adventure to find each other again in a creative space that is not charged, not political, not judgmental.

We're focusing on our common ground.

What is that?

Let's get super basic. We love our children, our sisters, brothers, moms and dads, grandparents... Americans love our families. We all fervently desire to protect and provide for our families and have the opportunity for happy, healthy, fulfilling lives. We love our sports teams. We love weekend barbeques. We love freedom. And we love being connected.

Common ground. And there is more, but let's focus here.

When we bring this common ground to the front of our awareness and see how we are the same in just these few places, it allows us to begin "see" each other with our hearts, not our judgments or labels. Tensions ease. The caricatures and stereotypes that have been built in our imaginations begin to melt away.

When we come together focusing on what unites us, in this spirit and energy, we bring care for each other, and bestow grace upon each other.

We uplift heaviness, heal divisiveness, peel off exhaustion, and create a space where we can look at each other face-to-face, directly in the eyes, and see beyond politics, and labels, and colors, and creeds, and ages, and... and... and.

We are America.

Through this creative video project, we will find each other once again.

The moment we begin to do this, America will begin to find her way.

It begins with us, each of us until it is all of us.

We're Americans, with a capital A. You know what that means? Do ya? That means that our forefathers were kicked out of every decent country in the world. We are the wretched refuse. We're the underdog. We're mutts! But there's no animal that more faithful, more loyal, more loveable than the mutt.
